It looks like Ditto also supports 3 custom copy buffers (in the Copy Buffer tab). You can change the description independently of the text content pasted (Edit Clip) and organize them in groups. Ditto pops up with the last open group and you can use the Ctrl+# keys there.Īny clip can also be assigned it's own hotkey by opening its properties and setting it. You can also create a Group that holds clips. If you disable "Update Clip Order On Paste" in Options -> General tab, then the order is stable until you copy something to the clipboard. Yes, Ditto could be better, but here are some things you could do currently that might help you. To unsubscribe from further messages, please visit Sent from because you indicated interest in But it's easy to confuse, and as soon as I need to copy something else, the order changes and thus the hotkeys change. If I pay attention to the order when I copy the numbers to the clipboard, I can get it to come out this way. I want to be able to press Ctrl-1 and always get the correct number for Scope 1, Ctrl-2 for Scope 2, etc. For example, I have three fields in a row named Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3. I want my hotkeys to match the spot on the form I am pasting into. If there is another way to accomplish something similar, I'm all ears. That text would stay assigned to Ctrl-1 until I overwrote or deleted it. So, I highlight some text and press, say, Shft-Ctrl-1, and then every time I press Ctrl-1 it pastes back that particular piece of text. What I would most like is to be able to be able to use hotkeys to copy text into specific hotkey slots. But I need a fast, smooth way of assigning said numbers to consistent hotkeys and I'm struggling to figure it out. I have to fill out long tedious webforms with random, hard to remember numbers like 1.55492, and I think Ditto could really speed this up.
